My therapeutic style draws on the uniqueness of each individual I see, offering a respectful and accessible approach to assist people in dealing with the many challenges life presents.

My work is informed by a range of therapeutic modalities including Psychodynamic, Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe an integrated approach broadens the individual’s ability to develop skills and techniques which can be then ‘integrated’ into their life. This approach maximizes the potential for insight, change and development in a flexible and personalised way.

I take a non-judgemental, person-centred approach, where unconditional positive regard and a genuine and deeply respectful relationship underpin the process of therapy. Counselling & Psychotherapy

The complexities of life with its many challenges can leave us feeling confused, fearful, sad, angry and unsure of our place in our lives, our family and our relationships. The counselling and psychotherapy process can change this. Whether you are facing difficulties from past experiences where repetitive cycles and unhelpful patterns are re-surfacing, or you simply are finding it hard to cope, psychotherapy and counselling can help. Patterns of behaviour developed as a result of past conditioning and experiences can lead us to develop specific thinking and behaviours that can sometimes interfere with our personal growth. The process of Psychotherapy and Counselling can help to change these unhelpful patterns.

Individuals seeking support with unexpected issues can be facilitated in a brief, solution-focused way, while others may wish to engage in longer term therapy where personality development, attachment and relationship styles and childhood issues can be explored and understood. The therapy process provides support and direction for those who may feel lost or isolated. Issues of neglect, uncertainty, childhood abuse, isolation can be transformed into greater self-understanding, insight, acceptance and a willingness to change the future from past pain, fear, shame, sadness. The experience of being sincerely and respectfully guided and supported in this process can be profound. Individuals will learn to take this experience with them after therapy ceases as continued empowerment and self-validation.

Together with the therapist, clients work towards releasing negative patterns by exploring their source, understanding their presence in your life to date and working to let them go. This creates greater awareness, growth and transformation.

Testimonials

It is hard to find the right person to talk to and trust when you are really down. I remember the first day I went to see Eileen I walked in feeling extremely low and walked out with hope. She helped make a dark heavy thing seem light and the dark keeps on lifting thanks to her help. Eileen was recommended to me by a friend and I cannot believe looking back now I almost didn’t call her. I don’t know where I would be now if I hadn’t. My friend spoke highly of Eileen and now I speak highly of her to my friends, some of which have ended up seeing her and believe the same as me that Eileen is a “God send”. Thank you Eileen.
- Suzie

Eileen has helped me see that I can free myself from my past abuse through acceptance and trust. I am working towards a healthier, brighter and more stable future. I highly recommend Eileen for anyone who wants to make positive lifestyle changes.
- Claudia.

I have been a patient of Eileen since September 2008 . The reason I came under Eileen care was a marital break-up, a loss of property and a business collapse. Also I had moved back to Sydney and was renting a room to survive. Things couldn't have been worse and my thought patterns were all over the place with the contemplation of suicide sometimes quite strong. Needless to indicate I was in bad shape mentally and physically. I was recommended to an appointment with Eileen.... I found Eileen to be immediately calming, caring and a great listener. As our meetings progressed I felt an aura of Eileen, that of an authentic determination that "I'm going to make it". Eileen, through her genuine care and professional insight has helped bring myself out of "the dark world" and into a great life growing experience.....I am on the way and Eileen is there with her giving inner strength for myself to continue on the path of 'newness'.
